WCW Hotline Report 3/18/99

Ralphus is rumored to officially retire from wrestling TV tonight on Thunder. There will be a lot of lady\rquote s\line who will feel this major loss. WCW Live is revolutionizing the wrestling business. In the past week Hart, Hogan, Nash, Flair and Buff\line have all been major stars appearing on the show. On WCW Live Bret Hart talked about his big angle that was crushed by Nash and that is getting\line screwed in WCW. They are wasting his talent. Back stage rumor has it that Nash doesn\rquote t want to push\line him because of there problems in the WWF. But a more believable story is that Nash feels Hart is\line overpaid and he should push mid card talent. Bret can leave in 2 years and the decision has to be made weather or not if he is worth pushing because he could jump ship in two years. Bret stormed out of Nitro after he heard his angle had been killed. Rumor has it that Bishoff is sick of the back stage politics and he may return strictly to the business\line side of WCW. Nash\rquotes relationship with Bishoff is very strong. A lot of people have been complaining about Nash and DDP\rquote s booking style. But take a look at what\line they have done. Steiner is superstar status, Malenko and Benoit have gold, Saturn and Booker T are\line getting a lot of exposure, and Flair is finally getting what he deserves. There has been talk of an Adonis group being formed\line with Luger, Buff, and Steiner. \par The new logo of WCW Nitro will debut in Las Vegas Nevada\rquote s Nitro. There has been no decision on when Sting will return or what gimmick he will have. Sting wants to be himself with no face paint. But a lot of people in the back want to see him as the crow Sting once\line again. \par ECW\rquote s Spike Dudley is rumored to wear a Ray Mystero mask on their upcoming pay per view. Because\line he claims to be the legitimate giant killer. \par Joey Styles claimed WCW stole the Uncensored gimmick from them. \par He says Paul Heyman would claim to be the one who created turnbuckles if he could.\line Flair has said he will not comment on Douglas anymore because it would further Douglas\rquote s career. \par There are rumors Justin Credible is talking to WCW; Scott Hall is his long time friend. If Justin left it\line would crush ECW because they have promoted him as there ultimate heal. I he did come to WCW he\line would be in the Cruiserweight division.

ECW Hardcore Hotline Report 3/17/99

-The Hotline started off with a very interesting news tidbit. Chastity who is now with HAK in WCW, and formerly in ECW was in an adult movie before she came to ECW. Styles didn't give the name of the film and he said he was completely against it, but Paul Heyman told him to put it on the Hotline

-Jerry Lawler recently turned himself into the police, because of the incident with the parking ticket\line and allegedly running over a police officers foot. When Lawler turned himself in it was being filmed for\line a news broadcast and Lawler jokingly looked at the camera and said, "Hey is this going to be put on\line COPS?" -Styles then went over the WWF Ross report and keypointed the parts where Ross talked about Paul Heyman and their relationship -Joey said that the WWF and ECW are on good terms and both support each other. He likes the\line direction of the WWF and thinks that the Hardcore Attitude that they have is giving them and edge\line over WCW -He then gave the Wrestlemania 15 tentative card -Weekend and Monday night ratings was the next subject and Styles went over the numbers briefly -Living Dangerously is this Sunday, and Styles thinks that this PPV looks like it has a good card. Taz vs. Sabu, Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn, Mustafa vs. New Jack, Shane Douglas and Tommy Dreamer vs.\line Justin Credible and Lance Storm, Tajiri vs. Super Crazy.

Scott Stiener to go to jail!!

A pro wrestler known as Big Poppa Pump dodged the big\line house Wednesday but will have to spend 10 days in the\line Cherokee County Jail. A judge also ordered Scott Carl Rechsteiner to pay\line $25,000 in fines, fees and restitution and to stay on\line probation for seven years after Rechsteiner pleaded guilty\line to aggravated assault and making terroristic threats,\line felonies with a maximum sentence of 30 years. The\line charges allege that Rechsteiner, 36, threatened a\line Department of Transportation worker and hit him with his\line Ford F-250 pickup in April 1998. \ Rechsteiner has biceps the size of watermelons and a\line blond Fu Manchu mustache. His lawyer, Alan C.\line Manheim, told Judge C. Michael Roach that Rechsteiner is gentle and well-educated. "I have seen a man very different than his public persona," he said. \par Big Poppa Pump is one of the bad guys on the TV wrestling shows, wrestling with the World Championship Wrestling federation as part of the New World Order team. \par Last April 21, investigators said, Rechsteiner drove down a closed exit ramp off I-575 in south Cherokee and\line threatened and twice hit DOT road worker Paul\line Kaspereen after Kaspereen told him the ramp was closed. Kaspereen was not seriously hurt. "I just apologize that this happened," said the wrestler, who also goes by the name Scott Steiner. \par The judge sentenced Rechsteiner under the state's\line first-offender rules. That means a court will find him not\line guilty if he avoids trouble while on probation. Rechsteiner also must perform 200 hours of community service.
